A new 30,000 square foot pre-engineered Hangar is now complete at the Waukesha County Airport in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Features of the 190' long hangar include a Norco door height of 28', building eave height of 36'-6", one 10'x10' drive-in door, 2,600 square feet of office space, and 24 car parking spaces. Additional renovations to two existing hangars included a new 50 square foot bathroom in the Gold Hangar and new fixtures/liner panel in the Grey Hangar. MHC's construction team was led by President/Partner Warren Seil as Project Executive, Vice President John Dunneback as Team Leader, Project Manager Noah Warriner, and Project Superintendent Jerry Hawkinson. Ware Malcomb of Oak Brook, Illinois provided the architectural design services.
In addition to the new Hangar, MHC also renovated the 9,700 square foot interior of the Terminal which consists of a large guest lounge, conference room, restrooms, and private offices. To accommodate flight crews, a pilot's lounge with private sleeping areas, along with private showers for men and women was included. A flight school meeting space is also featured.
Waukesha County Airport hosted the 62nd Annual Wisconsin Aviation Conference in late April 2017, which brought several hundred aviation industry professionals to the grounds. Participants had the opportunity to tour the newly renovated Terminal as part of the annual conference. Atlantic Aviation also held a grand opening with ribbon cutting ceremony in June 2017 to celebrate the terminal completion, directly followed by a groundbreaking for the new 30,000 square foot hangar.
